CBF Takes Part in Giving Tuesday 2016

Giving Tuesday is an international day of generosity that empowers people to give to the causes that they are passionate about. Here at Columbia Basin Foundation we are in a unique position where we are usually supporting the philanthropic efforts of others, with little opportunity to fund our own projects for the communities we serve. So this year, for Giving Tuesday, we are launching the Columbia Basin Foundation Special Projects Fund and we need your help. Today, November 29th, 2016, is the official kickoff to this fund and we have a special project in mind to get things started.

We are proud to announce the launch of the Columbia Basin Foundation Community Libraries. The tiny libraries will be built, stocked with books, and placed around our communities to promote reading (and sharing!) for kids in the neighborhoods. Our CBF Executive Director, Donn Cook, has promised to match the first $250 in donations made to this fund, so this is where you come in. Your donations of any amount make a difference and help promote a really great cause for our youth. Even $5 is greatly appreciated in the spirit of Giving Tuesday and the holiday spirit. All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)(3) public charity.

So how do you give to this fund? You can either click HERE to donate online (be sure to enter CBF Special Projects Fund in the spot where it asks for the name of the fund you wish to donate to, see example), or mail a check to us at the address below (be sure to include CBF Special Projects Fund in the notes line on your check!).

Follow along on our blog (shared on Facebook or directly on our website) in the coming months for updates on fundraising, building, stocking, choosing locations, and installation of our community libraries.
