Grant Season Deadline Reminder!

Columbia Basin Foundation is thrilled to help manage some really incredible grants available for our community and love to see the very deserving organizations receive this critical help each year. While the foundation gives away hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants each year, there are five that nonprofit organizations can apply for (the rest are designated by the donor). The deadline for grant season is right around the corner, so if you are planning on applying for a grant make sure to get your applications in by March 31st. All applications must be received in the CBF office by 5:00pm on that date (NOT POSTMARKED BY THAT DATE!) or they will not be considered. If you think your organization or group might benefit from one of these grants, head right this way for the guidelines and application.

And that is why we have created a regular storyteller series here on the CBF Blog. We hope to share the kindness and compassion of those who have created these funds and organizations to help our communities thrive. This is the story of the Homeless Task Force of Grant County.

A big role of a community foundation is to bring awareness to their community partners, in an effort to help lift up organizations that are having a positive effect on the surrounding area. Columbia Basin Foundation has been honored to work with and get to know many of these organizations. We are delighted to bring you round 2 of the Nonprofit Spotlight to shine the light on the good these groups are doing.

CBF Takes Part in Giving Tuesday 2016

Giving Tuesday is an international day of generosity that empowers people to give to the causes that they are passionate about. Here at Columbia Basin Foundation we are in a unique position where we are usually supporting the philanthropic efforts of others, with little opportunity to fund our own projects for the communities we serve. So this year, for Giving Tuesday, we are launching the Columbia Basin Foundation Special Projects Fund and we need your help. Today, November 29th, 2016, is the official kickoff to this fund and we have a special project in mind to get things started.
